It is with great sadness that Standards Australia acknowledges the passing of Kim Craig.
A long-time contributor to the work of Standards Australia and a highly regarded industry expert, Kim made a tremendous impact on the Standards world, both here in Australia and internationally.
Kim was an active participant in standards development for 20 years, having a diverse knowledge spanning lighting, ICT, electrical and electronics manufacturing. He was an active member of EL-041, Lighting, and was previously a member of QR-12, Conformance Marking to Regulatory Requirements, contributing largely on important issues affecting the lighting industry.
At an international level, Kim was appointed to the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) Standardization Management Board and elected to the Finance Committee of the IEC with responsibility for budget preparation and advice to the Treasurer.
In recognition of his tireless efforts over the years, Kim was awarded the Meritorious Contribution Award for International work at the 2018 Standards Awards.
"Kim was always helpful and provided great support to his colleagues," says Standards Australia CEO, Adrian O'Connell.
"Beyond his wealth of technical knowledge and expertise, Kim viewed all his efforts both nationally and internationally in developing standards as his way of giving back to industry."
