Australia’s agricultural industry is growing at an exponential rate, valued at $71.2 billion in 22-21, up from $61 billion in 219-2 (Gupta, 221, ABS, 221). In addition, the National Farmers’ Federation (NFF) has set an ambitious target for the agricultural industry to exceed $1 billion in farm gate output by 23 (NFF, 219). A growing middle class in key export destinations in the ASEAN region is increasing the demand for food and high-quality produce (Austrade, 217), and the way in which consumers consume food is also changing.
