Every year, Standards Australia recognises individuals, accredited Standards Development Organisations (SDOs), and committees who have made significant contributions to standards development.

We are pleased to announce nominations are now open for 2024: www.standards.org.au/engagement-events/awards/nomination-form

Please note - nominations close on Thursday, 21 March.

Previous winners are eligible for renomination, and self-nominations are welcome. Winners are chosen by a panel including Standards Australia’s executives and standards development senior managers. Winners will be announced in May. To learn more about the awards, including the categories, please visit www.standards.org.au/engagement-events/awards

Award categories:

W.R. Hebblewhite Medal

This is awarded to an individual who has significantly contributed to standardisation at both national and international levels, honouring the legacy of William Rayner Hebblewhite O.B.E., the first and longest-serving CEO of Standards Australia.

Meritorious Contribution Award (National)

Recognises individuals or organisations that have made substantial contributions to national standards development, including problem-solving, research, innovative thinking, and effective representation of their industry or sector.

Meritorious Contribution Award (International)

Acknowledges those who have made significant achievements in international standards development, including those who have held leadership roles and influenced international standards for Australia’s benefit.

Emerging Leader Award

Recognises emerging leaders who have actively participated in committee debates, championed relevant projects or initiatives, and effectively represented their industry or sector.

Innovation Award

For those who have championed innovative ways of developing standards or delivering them to end users, demonstrating the vision to imagine disruptive change and the drive to deliver it.

Outstanding Committee Award

Recognises standards committees that have gone the extra mile, making a positive impact on the industry, and improving the quality of life within communities through their published standards.
