Standards Australia appoints new CMO

On 15 May 2024, Standards Australia welcomed Ms Tanya Brees as the organisation’s first Chief Marketing Officer (CMO).
Ms Brees brings a wealth of experience from her previous role as General Manager Policy & Reputation at NRMA. During this role, she successfully led various functions including communications, content, marketing, policy, and community, contributing to the growth of NRMA’s reputation and revenue by delivering social, member and business value.
She is a versatile leader with over 20 years of experience in various fields including external and internal communications, brand and reputation management, public policy and advocacy, marketing, content strategy and production, stakeholder management, community engagement, digital employee experience, and change and transformation. Her commitment to authentic storytelling has earned her five IABC Gold Quill Excellence Awards.

Tanya Brees is a versatile leader with a passion for creating meaningful experiences for employees, customers, and communities. She has over 20 years of experience across all aspects of external and internal communications, brand and reputation management, public policy and advocacy, marketing, content strategy and production, stakeholder management, community engagement, digital employee experience and change and transformation.
She has held various roles at NRMA, including General Manager Policy & Stakeholder Relations, General Manager Communications, Policy & Reputation, Acting General Manager Marketing & Membership, General Manager, Strategic Communications & Content, and Senior Manager Communications. Before NRMA, she worked at Best Western Australasia and GrayMatter Communications PR agency.
Tanya holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communications Studies from Western Sydney University.
