Vale Anthony (Tony) Dixon
Statements
It is with deep sadness that Standards Australia acknowledges the passing of Board Member and industry leader, Tony Dixon.
Tony’s passion and dedication to Australian industry saw him give many years of service in senior roles with Australian manufacturing companies and more recently as the Chief Executive Officer of the Australian Steel Institute through a period of change and transition for the steel sector globally. Tony’s significant impact will be matched by few.
Standards Australia’s Chairman Richard Brooks said that Tony, upon joining the SA Board had shown a considerable passion and understanding of the importance of standards to the Australian community. He rapidly took on the responsibility of a director with a commitment to wise and considered input.
“Tony’s diverse skills in business were considerable and his experiences were shared to the advantage of all. Tony’s input will be greatly missed by his fellow directors and members of the executive team.
Tony joined the Board of Standards Australia only recently after many years of contribution as a Member of the Standards Australia Council as Chief Executive Officer of the Australian Steel Institute.
Our thoughts are with Tony’s family and friends at this time.
