Rod Balding

Rod Balding is a people-centric leader with deep expertise in finance, risk management, and governance who joined Standards Australia in 2025. As CEO, Rod brings a strong history of working with organisations of all sizes to drive growth, enhance governance, and foster collaboration across industries.  

Rod is a passionate advocate for strong governance and stakeholder engagement, having served in key roles with Basketball Australia, Football Australia, and the Australian Sports Foundation.

Previously, Rod was a Partner at a large accounting firm, where he held multiple leadership roles with responsibility for Markets & Growth, Operations, Human Capital, and Finance. He led major engagements and collaborated across the financial services and member-based industries, working closely with executive teams and boards to deliver commercial and strategic insights.

Rod holds a Bachelor of Business (with Distinction) from the University of Technology, Sydney, and is a member of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand, the Australian Institute of Company Directors, and the Risk Management Institute of Australasia.
